Make a list of emergency numbers, list of medications, who to call, when to call
Emergency Call
Call for emergency personnel (Sheriff's department or police) if your loved one is going to harm themselves or someone else.


What to Say
If you do need to call 911: tell the dispatcher that this is a mental health call and you want a CIT (Crisis Intervention Team) member. CIT officers are specially trained to handle mental health calls.
Turn on all the lights in the house. Officers do not want to see any shadows.
Do not run out to the officers. They don’t know who you are.
Remain calm and explain the situation.
Stand back and let the officers do their job.
